Su reddit è stato proposto un sondaggio sui 20 dischi essenziali che ogni amante di jazz dovrebbe avere. Non è certo una lista definitiva, ad esempio di Davis il mio album preferito è 'Round About Midnight e manca uno dei miei dischi più amati in assoluto: Bluesnik di Jackie McLean. Voglio dire che come tutti gli elenchi del genere va preso con una certa dose di buonsenso, ma è comunque un buon riferimento per chi si avvicina a questo genere musicale.
