Walter Trout da Atlantic City, New Jersey, è un chitarrista blues con una grande tecnica. In un sondaggio della BBC qualche anno fa è arrivato al sesto posto come migliore chitarrista elettrico di tutti i tempi, solo due voti sotto Jimmy Page. Go The Distance, forse non è il massimo dell'originalità ma è un disco che si fa ascoltare molto volentieri nella migliore tradizione del blues elettrico di Jimi Hendrix e Stevie Ray Vaughan. Mi è venuto in mente questo CD perché oggi a Roma c'è l'Europe Music Awards di MTV. E allora vi dedico l'ottima traccia n. 11 I don't want my MTV con un ritmo che ricorda Roll Over Beethoven dice tutto quello che i veri amanti della musica pensano della TV di musica commerciale...
